Aiper troubleshooting

Aiper Not Charging? How to Find the Cause and Fix It

Most Aiper charging problems are the charger, wet or dirty contacts, or a battery worn by long storage. Here's how to tell which, using Aiper's own support guides.

Quick fix

Watch the charger light: it should turn red while charging and green when full. If it stays green, try another outlet, dry and clean the contacts, and try another charger. If it charges but dies fast, the battery is worn; contact Aiper about warranty.

Most "won't charge" problems are not a dead robot. Aiper's own guides point to the charger, the outlet and the charging contacts first, and to the battery only after those check out.

Tip: Charge on a dry, shaded surface away from anything flammable. If the robot or charger gets hot, or the light flashes red while charging, unplug it and see our Aiper red light guide.

1. Read the charger light

On the Scuba S1 and SE:

  • Red while charging, green when full: working normally.
  • Green when connected, never red: charging isn't starting. Go to step 2.
  • Red, but the robot dies quickly afterwards: the battery isn't holding charge. Go to step 4.

2. Check the outlet and charger

  1. Plug the charger into an outlet you know works.
  2. If the light still doesn't turn red, try another compatible Aiper charger or cable.

3. Dry and clean the contacts

  1. Lift the robot out and let it drain and dry.
  2. Wipe the charging contacts with a dry cloth to remove water, corrosion or debris. Rinse and dry them first after saltwater use.
  3. Reconnect and check that the light turns red.

4. A worn battery

If the charger works and the contacts are clean but the robot still won't charge, or drains within minutes, the battery has likely worn out. Aiper says this is common after long storage with an empty battery.

For the Scuba V3, Aiper's support page says the battery is covered by the 2-year warranty and qualifies if runtime consistently drops below about 40 to 50 minutes on a full charge.

Keep the battery healthy

From Aiper's V3 guide:

  • Charge fully before each use, and unplug once full.
  • Store indoors at room temperature if it will sit unused for a month or more.
  • For winter, store it at about 60% charge rather than empty.

Contact Aiper

If it still won't charge, submit a warranty request with your serial number, and say whether the charger light turns red when connected. Aiper lists +1 866 850 0666 and service@aiper.com.

Still not working?

If the fixes above don’t help and your robot is out of warranty, a repair can cost more than a replacement. Compare current models before you pay for parts.
