Our verdict

The Beatbot Sora 30 is the best cordless robot for most pools: up to 5 hours on the floor, four roller brushes, two ultrasonic sensors and above-ground support. For the most capable robot money can buy, choose the Aiper Scuba X1 Pro Max; on a tight budget, the Beatbot Sora 10 or WYBOT C2.

Cordless robots used to mean short runtimes and floor-only cleaning. Not any more: the best models now run for hours and clean the floor, walls and waterline, and a few skim the surface too. We ranked them on the makers' published specs, independent reviews and owner reports, using the scores in our method. We did not test these robots ourselves, and no brand paid for a place on this list.

How to choose

  1. Pool type first. Aiper's S1, X1 and X1 Pro Max are listed for in-ground pools only. Beatbot's Sora range and WYBOT's robots are listed for both above-ground and in-ground pools.
  2. Match the pool size. Each robot is rated for a floor area; ours range from 2,150 to 3,230 sq ft.
  3. Decide on skimming. If leaves and pollen land on your water, a skimming robot (Sora 70, X1 Pro Max) catches them before they sink.
  4. Check the filter. For fine dust and sand, look for an ultra-fine filter: 3 µm on Aiper's X series, 10 µm on the WYBOT C2, and 3 µm as an extra on Beatbot.
  5. Think about lifting. Some of these robots weigh over 20 lb. A waterline-parking robot is easier to retrieve.

Not sure? The pool robot finder matches models to your pool in five questions.

Prices

On October 16, 2026, the makers' stores listed the Sora 10, 30 and 70 at $699, $999 and $1,499 (on sale for $469, $699 and $1,199) and the WYBOT C2 at $699.99 (on sale for $499.99). Aiper's store did not show prices for the X1 or X1 Pro Max that day. Prices change often, so check the buttons for current offers.
