Beatbot Sora 30

8.1/10 research score Cordless

List price $999 (as of Oct 2026)

Best for: Large pools with walls that need real scrubbing

Our verdict

The Sora 30 is our top pick for most pools: up to 5 hours of floor cleaning, strong scrubbing from four roller brushes, ultrasonic obstacle avoidance and support for above-ground pools. It doesn't skim the surface and charges through a plug rather than a dock.

The Beatbot Sora 30 sits in the middle of Beatbot's Sora line, and on published specs it's the best balance of price and capability we've found. We have not tested it; this review uses Beatbot's specifications and three European hands-on reviews (our method).

Key specs

  • Cleans: floor, walls and waterline in pools up to 3,230 sq ft, above-ground or in-ground; no surface skimming
  • Runtime: up to 5 hours on the floor, 4.5 hours for a full clean (10,000 mAh); charging: about 4.5 hours by plug
  • Scrubbing: four bottom roller brushes in two groups; 6,800 GPH suction
  • Filter: 5.2 L basket, 150 µm (3 µm basket available separately)
  • Navigation: 13 sensors including two ultrasonic, S-shaped floor paths
  • Weight: 19.6 lb; warranty: 2 years

What testers found

  • Clubic notes it uses the same pump as the Sora 70 and a large basket, and calls it light for its class; its filter-door clip was less convenient than a hinge.
  • Mac4Ever used it for several weeks and praised the cordless design, large basket and surface parking that makes retrieval easy, while finding it awkward to carry to the charger.
  • HouseControllers confirms floor, wall and waterline cleaning with a 4 to 5-hour battery, and points out there's no surface cleaning and no charging station.

Sora 30 or Sora 70?

Choose the Sora 70 if leaves and pollen land on your water: surface skimming catches them before they sink. Otherwise, the Sora 30 does the same underwater cleaning for less.

Comparison

Robotic vs Suction Pool Cleaners: Which Is Worth It?

Suction cleaners are cheap to buy but run on your pool pump; robots cost more but clean walls, filter their own debris and use little power. We compare cost, cleaning and upkeep.
