About Beatbot

Beatbot is one of the newer cordless brands, and its selling point is runtime: every Sora model is rated for up to 5 hours on the pool floor, more than most robots at twice the price. Beatbot publishes unusually complete spec sheets (battery capacity, sensors, filter fineness, weight and dimensions), which makes its robots easy to compare honestly.

The current range

Model Cleans Runtime (floor) Warranty
Sora 10 Floor, walls, waterline Up to 5 h 2 years
Sora 30 Floor, walls, waterline Up to 5 h 2 years
Sora 70 Surface, floor, walls, waterline Up to 5 h (7 h skimming) 3 years
AquaSense 2 Floor, walls, waterline Up to 4 h 3 years

Beatbot's top models (AquaSense 2 Ultra and AquaSense X) add camera-based mapping at far higher prices. The AquaSense 2 Pro has been discontinued.

Things to know

  • Standard filters are 150 µm; a 3 µm ultra-fine basket is sold separately for most models.
  • The app works over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, but it can only talk to the robot when it is at the surface. Testers and owners report the connection dropping while it cleans underwater, which is normal for radio signals in water.
  • Saltwater pools are supported below 5,000 ppm salt.
