Aiper Scuba V3 Review: Smart Camera, Ordinary Battery
The Scuba V3 uses an AI camera to find dirt and charges on a wireless dock. We look at its specs, an independent review and the trade-offs, including a battery that only just covers bigger pools.

Aiper
Aiper Scuba V3
List price $1,099.99 (as of Oct 2026)
Best for: In-ground pools where dirt collects in the same spots
Our verdict
The V3 is the most convenient mid-priced Aiper: it targets visible dirt, docks wirelessly and filters to 3 µm. Its 3-hour battery, 5-hour charge and lack of skimming hold it back. For pure cleaning power at similar money, the Scuba X1 is stronger.
The Aiper Scuba V3 is Aiper's camera-guided robot for in-ground pools. Instead of covering the floor in a fixed pattern only, it looks for visible dirt and goes after it. We have not tested it; this review uses Aiper's specifications and support pages plus one independent hands-on review from July 2026 (our method).
Key specs
- Cleans: floor, walls and waterline (JetAssist horizontal waterline cleaning); no surface skimming

- Filter: two-stage MicroMesh, 180 µm and 3 µm
- Runtime: about 180 minutes; charging: about 5 hours on a wireless dock
- Weight: 18.1 lb
- Warranty: 2 years, battery included
What the camera changes
Most robots follow a fixed path whether or not an area is dirty. The V3's camera spots debris and directs the robot toward it, which helps when dirt gathers in the same corners. Aiper says the images are processed on the robot, with no storage or upload, certified by TÜV.
What a tester found
Basic Tutorials' July 2026 review praised the targeted cleaning but listed real limits:
- Battery is marginal for big pools. Aiper quotes about 200 m² (about 2,150 sq ft) as a guideline; the reviewer thought about 150 m² more realistic with heavy dirt.
- Retrieve it promptly. It surfaces and notifies you when finished; if you miss the roughly 10-minute window, the battery runs down and it sinks.
- Curved walls. Small gaps can appear on strongly curved or round walls.
- One clean a day. The 5-hour charge rules out a second full cycle the same day.
Who should buy it
Buy the V3 if your in-ground pool collects dirt in predictable places and you like the idea of a wireless dock with no contacts to dry. If you mainly need strong suction and capacity, the Scuba X1 is the better Aiper.
Alternatives
Aiper
Aiper Scuba X1
Best for: Larger in-ground pools that need waterline cleaning
Beatbot
Beatbot Sora 30
List price $999 (as of Oct 2026)
Best for: Large pools with walls that need real scrubbing
Bottom line
The V3 brings genuinely useful smart features to a mid-range price. Treat it as a convenient, clever cleaner for medium pools rather than a set-and-forget machine for large ones.
